The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is a cooperative partnership between the Alaska seafood industry and the State of Alaska , established under Alaska law as a public corporation. It is the official seafood marketing agency of the State of Alaska funded by taxes on Alaska seafood processors and harvesters. This revenue combined with federal marketing programme support provides the funds for ASMI’s marketing activities that span the globe.
The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is responsible for the world wide promotion of wild Alaska seafood harvested from the cold and clean Pacific waters surrounding the coast of Alaska.
ASMI‘s Northern European Region covering the UK, Eire, The Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark conducts marketing and promotional activities to support all Alaska seafood species. The public relations programme in the UK produces a wide range of recipes every year which are readily available on request, a selection of which can be found on these pages.
Wild Alaska Seafood is available in many forms including fresh, frozen and canned formats. Wild Alaska canned salmon has always been a popular favourite and now fresh wild Alaska salmon and other species are available during their harvest periods and especially during the key salmon harvest period of June, July and August. “Fresher Frozen” wild Alaska seafood is also available throughout the year. Wild Alaska seafood is available at most major supermarkets and through foodservice suppliers.
